Our club nights are held every 3rd Wednesday each month (except December & January) The
show starts at 7.30pm with an hour of open mike blackboard concert
(i.e. all comers WELCOME - bring your instrument/s & we supply the
PA & mics) and is followed by a special guest artist or group. Some nights have the whole programme dedicated to a blackboard concert. This is a chance for locals to 'strut their stuff' and showcase their talent. Many successful performers have had their first exposure through nights like these. We sometimes have other events like concerts, dedicated open-mic nights and our stunning music marathon to celebrate NZ Music Month each year
GUEST ARTISTS We aim to pay as much as the coffers will allow. The club is run with only volunteer labour and after costs, what's left goes to paying good quality bands and artists to perform. It is never enough but it is our policy to aim as high as possible to give recognition to the hard work performers put into getting their talents to impressive standards. Among the 'luminaries' that have graced our stage are The Red Dog Duo, The Warren Love Band, Owen Hughes,Tony Hillyard, The Al Witham Band, The Cattlestops, Bob McNeil, The Gift, Urban Ruby, Marg Layton and Bill Lake, The Dodge Brothers, Andrew London and Hot Club Sandwich,Taking Kelly, Waiting for Donald, Guitar Fish, FlyIn' Dice, Martyn Wyndam-Read, the Legal Tender Band, Monty Wolf, Pip Payne, Lil' Ian Goodsman, Charlotte Yates, Grassroots, Fiddlestix, Mark Laurent and Brenda Liddiard (Millenium Hippies), Gilly Darbey, Wayne Mason, Bullfrog Rata, Fiddlestix, Hello Sailor, Shot Band, The Fabulous Pakeha's,Tyree Robertson, Paul Ubana Jones, Darren Watson, The Vipers, Homefire Burning, Steve McDonald, Otis Mace, Laura Collins, Andrew White, Neil Billington Band, Henpicked...
We are always looking for new talent, and so please if you are interested in being part of the club, performing at our regular events or being a guest artist at club nights. This website was started by long time club member Alistair Fraser and is now, hosted free (many thanks!) by Wellington Community Net, and maintained, and peppered with photos, by Gary Allen.
